My first synthesizer was a PAIA kit that a friend and I put together. It was junk, really. They sent a lot of substitute parts that were questionable. I got it together and it worked ok but it would never stay in tune. I ended up using it in a band I was in but instead of playing the synth the usual way, I would hit it with mallots. They were SOFT mallots but I eventually beat my synth to death. Fun times!
I don't even know how a synth would go out of tune - Since they play synthesized sound/notes, I'd think the the sound they'd generate for a note would be fairly constant? And when you say you hit it with
mallots, do you mean you'd hit the keys to push them?
