This is a test mesasge from a new (old) BBS, Split Infinity to test the capability of the DOVENet QWK mailer.
Split Infinity BBS started back in
the late '80s on an Aple ][e and a 300 baud modem. It grew over the years to a 15 line system running PCBoard on a Novell Network with 15 386 PC nodes all running 33.6K modems. It them morphed into an ISP called Innervision Technologies using the domain anme of Nexusprime.org before we shut everythign down.
I've played over the years with bringin it back to life but nothign really stuck. I've recently been in touch with a bunches of callers from my old stomping grounds via facebook and the desire to resurrect Split Infinity hit me and here we are.
I was even able to dig up all of my okld registration codes for the doors I used to run.
So, short story long, Split Infinity is back online just no reachable externally yet. Still got to figure out the othernet mailer stuff (Argus, Irex, Radius, FD, BinkD, etc, etc) and see what I can get running.

You had to mention Novell! It took decades to get Snipes out of my head and now it is back. SNIPES!!!! =)
I miss that game! =)
I am honored by a fellow PCBoarder. I never hit 15 lines. I am guessing th 386's were DX's with 1 meg of ram and a 40meg HD running Desqview, or did yo run less PC's with mulitple nodes? 4 comm ports per PC without an expansion card. The most I had was 3. Good times back then no doubt.
echto
I till have the source code for 15.3
now I am getting a little pc bored myself.
Actually it was one modem per system. And yes, 386DX 66 systems all with 1 MB of memory and 20MB HD's.
Man those were the days. We used to turn the lights off in the server room and watch the light show.... better than christmas lights!!!
No kidding! So cool! I bet you could sit in there in the dark, start drinking, and loose yourself in the sounds of all the harddrives and blinkin lights. We as a race have definitely come a long way technologically speaki but man... fun is fun and back then it was! I remember holding my brand new zoom v.32bis modem like a baby kitten when I received it in the mail.
Mark!!!! OMG, I remember you. See I told the wife that the memory
wasn't the
first thing to go! (grin)
It's good to hear from you again.
Split Infinity is online and cranking, don't be a stranger!
