• Lego DeLorean from Back To The Future

Does anyone here like to build detailed Lego sets? I don't really have many, but there are some cool looking ones.

A couple years ago, I bought one of the then-new Back To The Future Delorean time machine sets from Lego: https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/back-to-the-future-time-machine-10300

I built it over a weekend, spending a few hours each day Friday, Saturday, and that Sunday putting it together. I think it's a pretty cool set. The price has gone up since I bought mine, too. When I bought mine, I think it was about $120 (US), but now it looks like they're charging $199. Seems quick for the price to go up that much..

Over the years, I've seen some Lego Technic sets that look pretty cool. I seem to remember seeing one for a radio-controlled car, which I considered buying. They also had a big R2-D2 (Star Wars) set that was pretty cool. Lego sets tend to be fairly expensive though..

I also had a Lego Mindstorms set that I bought because I'd heard about a Rubik's Cube solver program someone made for it, and I built that. I thought that was pretty cool. Eventually I sold that set, and I didn't get nearly what I paid for it, unfortunately.

Our six year old grandson has been here for six weeks and has
REALLY gotten into lego, which has gotten ME more into it. :-)

I've seen that on the shelves, and LOVE it - as well as the old
    Camaro Z28... I haven't bought either, but I did pick up a $20
Bond car and built it. Scratches the model car itch (I used to
build a LOT) without having to buy/prep/store paints and glue.

It also scratches a 'puzzle' itch - I've built a few over the
    years but again storage, etc.

I've seen them on sale... There's an atari right now that's on sale I
    wouldn't mind picking up...

A few weeks ago my mother in law wanted to treat me as a gesture for all
the help/work I do around her house and such. I ordered the retro radio.
WOW! My grandson helped me put it together and I'm hooked now. LOL

They are expensive... But if I buy a plastic model car kit for $25, then
glue, then paint, knives, sandpaper, etc. I've easily spent about $100. Of course I don't have to replace the paint & glue for EVERY kit, but it's
still an outlay. One of these cars with all that detail though? Well worth
it, if it's in your budget, IMO.

Not familiar with those... But the technic stuff is pretty cool. My retro
radio has some intricate technic stuff in it.

We are going to a conference next week... I'm THIS close to buying another
'big ticket' to have something to do in the hotel... A few years ago
while Vanessa was in sessions I was working on Gaslands stuff, but it's
not a game that ever gets to the table (other than games I run on Slack - virtual) and it's several small containers to carry paint, glue, other supplies, etc. So...

... I'm always late. My ancestors arrived on the Juneflower.

Another Lego car kit might be cool.
