Does anyone here like to build detailed Lego sets? I don't really have many, but there are some cool looking ones.
A couple years ago, I bought one of the then-new Back To The Future Delorean time machine sets from Lego: https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/back-to-the-future-time-machine-10300
I built it over a weekend, spending a few hours each day Friday,
Saturday, and that Sunday putting it together. I think it's a pretty
cool set. The price has gone up since I bought mine, too. When I
bought mine, I think it was about $120 (US), but now it looks like
they're charging $199. Seems quick for the price to go up that much..
Over the years, I've seen some Lego Technic sets that look pretty cool.
I seem to remember seeing one for a radio-controlled car, which I considered buying. They also had a big R2-D2 (Star Wars) set that was pretty cool. Lego sets tend to be fairly expensive though..
I also had a Lego Mindstorms set that I bought because I'd heard about
a Rubik's Cube solver program someone made for it, and I built that. I thought that was pretty cool. Eventually I sold that set, and I didn't get nearly what I paid for it, unfortunately.
I've seen that on the shelves, and LOVE it - as well as the old Camaro Z28... I haven't bought either, but I did pick up a $20 Bond car and built it. Scratches the model car itch (I used to build a LOT) without having to buy/prep/store paints and glue.
