It is very very difficult to prevent diabetes. After all it is a harmonal disorder and genes
greatly affect the onset of diabetes. But diabetes, especially Type-II, can be controlled
by:
Having an active life, not being a sedentary couch potato
Eating well balanced food that is low on high glycemic carbs (sugar, starch, rice,
processed food, fast food, etc.)
Go easy on milk and dairy products including cheese, add veggies and foods having high
fibre
Good deal of exercise. Aerobics is the best but if you can t do aerobics, brisk walking is
good. What is brisk walking? If you can finish 1 km in 12 minutes or under that qualifies.
