What's wrong with the published #s? And if there are "hidden" #s, there's probably a reason for it.

Hidden BBS numbers. Sounds like you need an old war dialer.

I do find the concept interesting though. Not that I have the vintage
modem and analog phone line. Haven't had a land line for at least 15 years
or so.

At any rate, I wish you luck and I hope someone here can help you out.

I run a dial-up BBS but, as its number is listed in guides I won't bother you with it.

I always felt sorry for the people that got my BBS telephone numbers
after I moved. I had 3 numbers over the course of 10+ years, and my
number was in the file_id.diz of every file downloaded from my BBS.

I remember when I guess caller id was new and they had that little box you could put by the phone that said who was calling. We never really used it though. As long as I remember on our land line was always an answering machine to screen the calls.

At one point I changed it to George's from Seinfeld (which seemed to piss people off haha)

"Believe it or not, George isn't at home..."

I have a VoIP landline now but I only use it for outgoing calls. Too many scam calls these days to bother picking up blindly.

A local realtor has my number listed on some of their old documents that
got scraped by Google. We usually get 2-3 calls a week asking for them.

I called them, explained the situation, and offered to send them the
links that they'd want to have removed from Google. I got a snippy
"That's google's issue, not mine!"

I don't think they realize that their customer experience is in MY
HANDS. Oh, the possibilities!
