And, yeah, it also failed when I looked at it myself. The first test looked _really_ terrible, so I did the *nix vs dos endings change, and that got it to multiple lines.

But, yeah, still terrible. Not sure if it'll be a Mystic adjustment, a change in the Python script, or a change in the ANSIs.

And, at that point, it was already past my bed time. I'll probably be adding a few more tests to this base.

I suppose I could also do them locally, but it's kind of nice to know that they're going out, as ideally this would eventually switch over to the ad/ANSI base.

Well, assuming I ever get it working well.

But this came about because of people talking about how having a BBS ad every day was way too much.

So I was thinking about how it'd be neat to have a BBS ad every day, but at least it'd be different every day.

Though, honestly, it'd still be more of a, "Here's an ANSI a day" idea. Since I don't get that many visitors, may as well send them out.

The last one I tried was after I deleted the stuff in the 80th column. When I looked at it using cat, it did seem better, but it still didn't look right, as you can see.

Though now I think I might do a quick test (I should probably be doing other things) just to see if today's calendar thing shows up better.

Regardless, thanks for the response (even if I really am just testing, so people shouldn't feel any need to respond), and, yeah, if someone sees something obvious I'm doing wrong...

I agree. I'm a weird one who happens to like seeing ads posted, because I enjoy seeing ANSI... even if it's something I've seen tons of times.

What you're doing will make this all the better.

I got it working by re-saving the ANSI using the Mystic ANSI editor, with 79 column width.

I guess the _reason_ is probably because of a variety of escape codes or extra-long lines that mutil wound up cutting off.

Hat tip to Null mag issue 07 talking about uploading ANSI files.

Anyway, I'll see how it goes in future days, and probably make some additional adjustments.

(Also, credit to LDA for the Pi Day image. It's well done, and I'm glad my calendar gets to have it.)

Currently, they seem to work, as long as I edit the ANSIs with Mys
editor. So you'll probably see these in daily tests, just so I can see
that they look okay. But I have an idea or two more I'd like to do before
putting these in the ad/ANSI base. ************************************************************************

I'm using a 132x37 screen on SyncTERM if that helps debugging at all and I've got all my mystic message base templates set up to be widescreen. That may be what's causing it if you're on a standard mystic screen.

But, yeah, testing in something other than 80x25 (ish) would at least make some things more obvious for me. I guess I'll have to see how frequently it's a problem.

Since at some point I'll want to do all 380-ish of them, rather than a day at a time, and just go for it.

Testing. This part is meant to be tagline-ish for Storm BBS
as part of testing out posting daily ads that show the appropriate ANSI
for the day. Theoretically it'll be something like,
"telnet to telnet.stormbbs.com, or use your web browser with
http://bbs.stormbbs.com, and come see this very ANSI screen again."

Currently, they seem to work, as long as I edit the ANSIs with the
Mystic editor. So you'll probably see these in daily tests, just so I
can see that they look okay. But I have an idea or two more I'd like to do
before putting these in the ad/ANSI base. ************************************************************************
