    Yup using the I call them MCI commands I push the cursor over to column
    41 so it gives a pseudo 40 column feel but when calling in at 80 columns it prints in 80.. Definitely a lot of customization to it, probably has
    my BBS name all over it too..

    The Telnet client I am using for the 40 column testing has options for 40,
    64, or 80 columns depending upon the user's choice and hardware. It has ANSI support, however, there could be the possibility the developer of that
    software defaulted to 80 columns. I'm not sure if ANSI has some kind of interrogation for column width, or if it just assumes that if it answered
    when inquiring about ANSI capability, it is 80 columns.

    It doesn't directly support a column width report but there are some tricks that can be used to detect a relatively accurate screen size with ANSI-BBS detection.

    Hmmmm... If Mystic could decipher true Commodore BBS MCI commands, that would be interesting! ;)

    I requested this back a few years ago and it was added in limited capacity.
    I do have 40 column themes running on my BBS, but it does need some tweaking and you are correct the message editor does not run in 40, or I should say it does not display a 40 column mode, just continues. it's still workable.

    My 40 column is text only.

    I would also like to have a 40 column theme to offer my TI-99/4A users.
    Please let me know if there has been any progress on this. I would be happy
    to help.
