  • Purge and Pack message base

    Hello everybody!

    I carry Fidonet, FSXnet, Dovenet echo areas. They are all setup to have 500 max msgs. But the FSXnet areas do not seem to purge att all. Some of them have over 100,000 messages in them. Is there a reason why that one network would not get purged?

    No, but do you have other rules like max message age also set up?

    You could set level 3 logging in MUTIL when running the purge message bases function and check the logs to get a better handle as to what's happening.

    + Feb 02 00:45:02 ALLFIX File Announce
    + Feb 02 00:45:02 Purge by max msgs: 1000 (1024 current)
    ! Feb 02 00:45:02 Purge #1
    ! Feb 02 00:45:02 Purge #2
    ! Feb 02 00:45:02 Purge #3
    ! Feb 02 00:45:02 Purge #4
