    Hi,

    Posting from my Magicka BBS!

    What's the purpose of the new mail scan? Can it be tweaked to actually
    read the new mail?

    Unrelated, in the docs there is info on setting up a script to watch for
    a semaphore when mail is ready to be scanned. Do you think that the
    scan once the semaphore is set could be done in the EXEC in BinkD?

    The new mail scan just lists which areas have new mail. The full mail
    scan allows you to read them.

    I assume you want this in your login? If so, replace the:

    bbs_mail_scan()

    with

    bbs_full_mail_scan()

    or

    bbs_personal_mail_scan()

    When I was running MagickaBBS I had a cron job run every so often that would look for the mail.out and if found delete it and scan mail out.

    The exec will execute based on received files - it isnt used to look for stuff to send out - its expected your tosser does that work and puts in the right location. (But when binkd sees it there, it will send it out.)

    when is a Message considered read and not new anymore by MagickaBBS?

    A message stays unread if read in the new scan, other wise if you read a message higher than the message it will show as read. or of you view the message.

    and how about having a key to set a message, that you read during
    the new mail scan, as read? feature request huh? :)
