Haiku, NetBSD on the Pi ... when can we expect the RISC OS port? ;)
I had pondered RISC OS, but as far as I know it's not posix unlike
Haiku. Same with Amiga OS. So might take a bit more time to figure out,
but there are more important things to work on for now I think,
How is your experience with netbsd on the Pi. Would you recommend
to test it? (for a
headless server).
Honestly, no. It works well, but you need to do a lot of compiling,
which takes time - and I suspect wears out the SD card. I've plugged in
a USB Hard Drive adapter and doing compiling on a hard drive, but I am
having trouble with the adapter.
At present I'm runing 9.0 RC1, and right after I installed and got
things going RC2 was released, compiling the entire OS takes a lot of
time, and kind of frustrating when it fails due to hardware problems.
I'm only running it because I like NetBSD - and wanted an excuse to run
it, but if I was serious about using a Pi for a server, rather than just
a play thing, I'd probably use raspbian due to it's packages.
