I would prefer not to know what is going on in anybody's bedroom -- gay, straight, or other -- as long as it is between consenting adults as it is likely none of my business.
THANK YOU for driving my point home.
We also have Black Pride Month, Asian Pride Month, and Latin American Prid >MP> "Month" (actually 5 or 6 weeks long) but, yes, this is the one that folks >MP> social media sure make the most noise about.
Then we get into the where's the WHITE pride month. Oh thats racist. But Black pride month isn't? Yeah, love those double standards these groups have. :(
Technically at least three days celebrate the military:
Armed Forces Day for active military
Memorial Day for the fallen
Veteran's Day for former military
As someone else pointed out, May is supposedly Military Appreciation Month
First, sorry Mike Powell if I am replying / quoting the wrong post as I am jus
getting a hang of this thing.
Second, based on random Google searches, it looks like current and former military members are a smaller minority U.S. than most other groups.
Third, as a Veteran, I dislike holidays that try to honor us. If one wants to
discuss focing values on others, I feel forced to respond kindly to "Thank you
for your service," to maintain societal norms when the truthful response would
be "I didn't do it for you."
I have tons of gay friends and co-workers. I can care less. Don't flaunt it around for a month. Maybe I should make August "I f*cked my wife in the ass month" and talk about it all month and force everything to go oh wow, so happy for you.
When you can't get a job, your community exiles you, your government takes away
right, etc. based on said activities, let us know.
The specific activity he describes actually did used to be illegal, regardless of the gender, marital status, or consent of the participants, in several US states. Might still be in some.

I think White Pride month would be pretty boring. Seeing things from other cultures that I might not normally be exposed to can be
interesting.
Having a Pride month doesn't really bother me. What does is all of the virtue signaling from apparently non-LGBTQ+ persons that accompanies
it. It is almost like they are tying to make it about them rather than
the people that the occassion is designated for?
Honestly, in these days of social media, when I see someone oversharing such details, they are most overwhelmingly straight, and usually female. They post too much detail and then wonder why they get a bunch of response from sickos and other strangers. <shrugs>
True. Then all these nut jobs protesting a KING we don't have or even someone REMOTELY ACTING like one. IQs sure have dropped over the years.

So, you mean people like Poindexter and NuSkooler, right?
I agree again.

Not really. Their reactions are pretty tame compared to what I am thinking of. The ones I am thinking of are more like "acknowledge this (and notice me in the process) or else!" and might declare you phobic
if you don't acknowledge them specifically, or of you react oddly to
their constant messaging, even though they are apparently not LGBTQ+.
If I drew a diagram of the people who act like this, and the
mostly-women I mentioned previously who overshare about their sex lives
on social media, the two circles would have a large overlap area. I
don't think either of the circles would include any BBSers I am
familiar with. ;)
