Howdy,
Is it down? I haven't received messages since the 14th of March. Isent
fido netmails to Sean Dennis and Rick Smith and haven't received any responses...
Sean is being Sean.
He renumbered stuff, and thought his "week" of notice was sufficent to see a result, and if you didnt comply he stopped delivering mail to the Hub. I use "week" because for me a week is 7 days...
Anyway, I think Rick and I were affected by his actions, because we didnt do what he wanted (even after a real week). Some of us have other important things to attend to first...
Send Rick an email, he needs to change his region address and submit a region segment with the new address. He should know what to do because the demand post has been posted in many places (I think I've seen it 5 times now), so he cant miss it. Or get him to contact me and I'll give him the details.
Sounds like someting the big baby would do.

(to Deon):
You don't think that's an important enough change for an RC to take the
5-10 minutes that it requires, to make the needed change? In a week?
Again, for me at least, I would think an RC would be on top of things
enough to:
2. Make the required change, which takes about 5 minutes.

He has gone thru many personal struggles, but I wished things could be bet on both ends.

Funny thing, then he tries to talk to me on another network like nothing h happened...ok whatever.

Like when I logged into his bbs, tried the next day I was deleted, tried
again, deleted the next day, then he wrote me on micronet to something
I responded to saying I guess you never learn you're not welcome.
Funny thing is, I was never on his board before. HAHAHAH .... but
yeah, I'm the asshole.

Did I do it within a week of reading the message - yes, I did it within 24hrs.
Did I read his message within a "week" of him sending sent it, depends
if your definition of a week is the same as Seans, or is an actual
week. Actually that doesnt matter, because the answer to both is no.
I've been busy with other things that have been more important.
Again, for me at least, I would think an RC would be on top of things

I would say most RCs are on top of things. But this is a hobby and it doesnt guarantee their attention when somebody wants something, nor
that something will get done by a specific time that hasnt been agreed. I've worked for many hobby groups and committees, and the first job is
to make sure everybody got, read and understood the memo, and to confirm/agree when the actions can be completed by - especially when
you are dependant on somebody else doing the work.
2. Make the required change, which takes about 5 minutes.
How would you know it would only takes 5 minutes for everybody? I can
see that could be true if you ran makenl, but I dont.
That right there opened my eyes to his true colors, and how far he was will to go to win an argument. I've never bothered dealing with him again after that. :|

Oh, he's a big piece of shit that loves to tell everyone his problems so people can boo-hoo him.
i remember he got really upset when i told him you don't just "learn assemb language" on a whim to maintain an OS/2 device driver and sockets program (SIO/VModem) and suggested the code would be better suited for the guys at Arca Noae. it was like he wanted glory for holding onto the code rather tha

Yeah I remember that also, he uses the most obscure OSes and
complains that others don't. Yeah, like I want to run FreeBSD.
ArcaOS yeah, it's cool, but OS/2 is dead. I ran it for YEARS in the
90s. It's hard to run anything under it now as it's not "current" to
run anything on. Not saying OS/2 was a treat back in the day either,
but it was fun times then. ;)
Watch your mouth! My hub still runs on OS/2 and it's very
reliable...well, when it's up ;)

to ensure it's longevity.

It's not down it's working fine. The iron fist made some changes and
your hub probably didn't have time to change them and now isn't
connecting.
Contact the iron fist yourself and he'll sort you out.

What did I do? Not agree with him on freebsd. Shame on me.
All I can say is: "Ed Did It!".
Fucking looney bin he is.
Haha! All good! I just wanted to check that it wasn't some packet parsing issue on my end.
Thanks for letting me know.

I really don't recall hitting the Reply iconon one of your posts but I probably did that some time in the past
I KNOW I have seen Reply windows pop up on this phone in the past.
I just haven't learned how to delete My mistaken tap that starts a mistaken Reply post.
I have been learning about this stuff since March 1984 when the
Commodore 64 system was bought.
I still say DUH! at times.

P.S. I came into the BBS world to learn from The People who have already figured out how to use a computer.
Still learning.

If that is true, than Im surprised he has VA benefits.
Good point, which makes the "drug addict" claim 100% false.
I think it's safe to say most of us are still learning!

either way
I post my finding on something, he promptly told me I was WRONG

another alias for Aug, August Abolins.

Thanks, I didn't notice one User Name was Capitalized and the other wasn't. Ed
I read the messages with an old QWK reader -- SLMR -- where both of their names are 'OGG'. ;) I usually can tell the difference by looking at the origin line.
