I have the combination of tty0tty, tcpser and dosemu running under debian11, but have the problem that despite a "RING" and "CONNECT57600"
no complete connection to a DOS BBS inside dosemu is happening. it stops after "CONNECT57600".
i still think that i might need a better Hayes Init string for the tcpser modem.

Start tcpser with some debugging so you can see what's going on (-tin the meantime i was able to connect to the BBS by using Frontdoor to establish the connection and afterwards load the BBS. I dont know why RemoteAccess does not establish the connection but Frontdoor does. It is
sS) and that will atleast show what is going to the serial side.
The only tricky thing I recall is when you have both tcpser and
dosemu using the same tnt device - they shouldnt (they are device
pairs and each side uses one of the pairs).
I've never played with tcpser so I'm certainly no expert. But one question, do you mean this as literally as you've written it? "CONNECT57600"
No BBS software is going to use this connect string by default. It
would be expecting "CONNECT 57600" or other such speed. If the
emulated modem doesn't return an expected result code, the BBS will
not acknowledge that a connection has taken place.

But still, transfers from and to the BBS don't work. That is now to
figure out. i am currently trying to use external zmodem protocols like
pd zmodem.
Since you are a Hub 3 node - I've got a new mailer that I've
written where I have more control with Zmodem. How about I put you
on it and we can try somethings and see if we can get it stable.
sure, i just may need i bit to find out how to configure FrontDoor and McMail. Just 27+ years later and i dont remember much ;)
