  • Python 2.7 end of life

    Hey I was playing around with some Python scripts and noticed a message I got that Python 2.7 reached the end of life on January 1st, 2020. Are there any plans on upgrading to 3.0+?

    Python 2 and python 3 are quite different and so that's why python2 is
    still a thing since it is still needed by python2 stuff.

    Python2 is good also for what it is/was.

    There won't be any updates for it anymore, maybe security updates??

    Best to develop with python3 but I think python2 will be around as long as
    it's needed.

    I assume you're talking about Mystic in particular, and on that front, I haven't read anything from g00r00 that indicates to me that it's something that'll get done any time soon. But I also missed a few months of g00r00
    posts.

    But that's not inside information. Still, if I were the wagering type, I wouldn't expect it anytime soon.

    I think that is the big question for many of us using Mystic. Python 4 is on the horizon and 2.7 is so, so old. Support for Python 3.x would be really, really great.
