After writing the last message about upgrading my old router to DD-WRT...changed the port to the Lenovo box with ArcaOS to 23. Did that & the software would pick up/answer the call.

With the new firmware...have tried 2666...2323 & other combinations...but the only one which works is 23. Where will I go on the router to setup the ports
    to anything than 23?

If your router supports it (which it should) you should be able to do a port forward like this:

    Internet -> Router -> port 2323 -> internal IP -> port 23.

Well, one would have to be looking at the same DD-WRT screen as
you are to know, but it will be something like "Port Forwarding",
where you tell it to forward port 2323 from the internet to your
internal LAN box's IP on port 23. Pretty standard stuff.

Log into router > Click Security > Apps & Gaming > Single Port Forwarding

From there, you want to "Add New Single Port Forwarding"

Application Name (Pick something useful like "telnet")
External port (Set this to whatever you want it to be on outside network) Internal Port (Set this to 23)
Protocol (Set this to either Both or TCP)
Device IP (Set this to the internal IP of the bbs machine)

This will direct the external port of whatever you set it to the internal
port of 23 on the bbs machine.

Wait, you mean you have ArcaOS answering on port 23, and want to do a NAT translation so port XXXX on the outside of the router gets redirected to
port 23 on the ArcaOS box?

Click on the NAT/QoS tab then enter the port forwardin definition.

    Application: Telnet
    Protocol: TCP
    Source Net: <leave blank>
Port From: <enter the port you want to use on the outside>
IP Address: <IP of your ArcaOS Box>
    Port To: 23
    Enable: <check the box>

Then, scroll down and hit "Apply Settings".

Also wanted to throw in there that you don't want to forget to forward
through port 24554 (or whatever port you run BINKP on) to your bbs as well. Also, if you are running mystic, I would strongly reccomend turning on SSH
as well and steering your users to use that instead.

I have SSH turned on and works with everything on Mystic except for anything running through NetFossil (Doors like LORD, Planets, etc).

I'm running on Windows 10 32bit. I haven't figured out how to get that working, so I haven't made SSH available to the outside world as of yet.

Not sure if anyone would have any pointers?

Believe it does. Seem to remember a section like this which had 2 different parts with putting in a port...but going to something else.

Thank you for the help. Opened up the window on flashing it & couldn't
believe the options available to set up. Am still running this board on the
DSL router...with everything else running through the Linksys with WRT.

Yes. Want to use like port 2666 to the outside world (like I'm using 7788 for this Mystic box).

HOT DOG! Wasn't used to all the new items available...compared to the CenturyLink DSL box. 1 great thing...once I plugged in the cable to WAN/LAN port...the router got an IP address from DHCP...while everything hooked
through the router was getting its address from the WRT router. Looks like I have the best of both worlds available with the DSL box being used for this board & for wireless units like my Roku.

    Thanks again!

This box is on Mystic...while the new one will be looking like Lora because it's got a setup like Mystic with everything included AND running on OS/2 natively. Just gotta get Lora to p/u the call.

Plus...if Mystic gets a current OS/2 version (unlike the demo available)...I will run Mystic again.

NetFossil doesn't support SSH, you won't be able to use local doors if you
use it. You could investigate alternative fossils that offer support, but I really liked NetFoss when I was running under windows

DD-WRT has a ton of stuff included in it; I'm playing now with plugging a USB drive into it and using the partitions on the drive for the router to run apps.

Make sure your wireless security is set to WPA2 + AES, and set a good password. There are a couple of good instructions on how to set up a guest network isolated from your home network.

Yessir! If you wanted to sign up, it's quick and easy, right on my BBS. You
can do one key access for all the games, or setup individual ones that you
want to run from your BBS. Setup is super easy as well, after your
application is approved you can download a custom connect package from my BBS right in the same DoorParty app that fills everything in for you.

Very nice. Saw the USB option listed...but now I know that firmware is so
much more than a "dumb" OS to run a device on.

Make sure your wireless security is set to WPA2 + AES, and set a good password.

Not bothering with using the wireless on the Linksys. Using the DSL box with wireless already set up for streaming & such.

Come to find out last night after reading your steps that I had not gotten
done the final upgrade I thought I had. Once I got that done & saw it had
been done...was able to find some of the items.

Doing them...still not connecting to any port but 23. On the other hand...did get the message/file bases mostly setup in Lora 2.99...but have to figure out how to import my messages/files/log on automatically. At least it shows me SIO2k does work.

Not where I want to be...but making headway everyday...even though I'm not where I want to be right now.

    Thanks for all the help!
