  • Too much credit

    The local media in my area is giving way too much credit to our state senator, and they do it over, and over, and over again.

    Every time she votes in favor of a budget, the news headlines read something like this:

    "Senator Webb secures $150,000 for the Town of Union."

    But she doesn't secure anything; the money isn't secure until the majority of the state senate, the majority of the state assembly, and the governor all "secure" it.

    Somebody at WICZ news really, really wants idiots to vote for her, but it makes no sense because we have a strong uniparty coalition anyway.

    That's because the Media is the Ministry of Propaganda for the Democrats.

    But they need to keep up the illusion of choice. If that illusion is dispelled, people will start shooting.

    That's probably true in some cases, but around here the Democrats often run unopposed, and in those cases there's no illusion.
