These confirmation hearings demonstrate the IQ of the senators who ask
    the questions.

    Or lack of an IQ.

Anyone else following the hearings? Any helpful questions been asked
yet? (I haven't heard any yet!)

Not really. I only see the headlines.

When I want to watch the circus, I want more entertainment and less WTF.

I think they do have some value... being that you can watch them, the
American public gets a chance to see what the nominees are about... but I
also agree it would help if the Senators asked the nominees better
    questions.

I think they are also something that has lost value over the past 40 years
or so because the Senate, and selection process, have become much more partisan.

Not really. I only see the headlines.

Pete Hegseth said "I've been investigated and cleared of all charges," and then Tim Kaine the Democrat said "Oh yea? You think you've been cleared when you had sexual relations out of wedlock?"

My quote might be a little off, but it was something along those lines. (Hilariously ignorant.)

We're getting tiny fragments of what the nominees are about. I agree that the senators should ask better questions.

"Are you going to be a lawyer for Trump or are you gonna be a lawyer for the American people?" <- That one is so stupid, because there's only 1 acceptable answer.

And Mazzie Horono's statement "I didn't meet with you because I wanted my questions to be on record" is ridiculous. She acts like she's a judge and the nominee is facing life imprisonment. In reality, nobody but the media would even care about "what's on record."
