That's what I thought. I just don't understand how a medical doctor can
be such a wimp and let a website turn their work into something so

I understand. They are heavy with student debt. They want a nice life. And all it takes is 1 bad lawsuit to remove his license, and still have to pay it off.
I am going to refuse next time. But should I be prepared for a scuffle with security? LOL
I doubt it. They may ask you to leave, in which case, just say "OK" and leave.
Some places may throw a temper tantrum, but just stay calm and polite and it (usually) works out.
