    If not using telnet is mystic acting as a fido mailer? Hope my other
    post about newsgroups makes it to the base posted it over a nntp server
    before I found this base on fidonet.

    The "Terminal (TELNET)" server in Mystic is separate from the "BINKP" server; the former only accepts BBS calls whereas the latter accepts incoming mail using the binkp protocol. So they can coexist peacefully.

    Outgoing calls are placed by './mis poll' commands, and are driven by the mis binary itself, i.e., they do not rely on the "BINKP" server (which only accepts incoming mail) being enabled/active, if I recall correctly.

    Yes, I use Mystic on fido.winserver.org as a Fido feed.

    been trying to setup a bbs but wanting to not do telnet because of
    screen readers and tts opting for nntp access. Do newsgroups work the
    same way in mystic as echomail bases? I think there needs to be a bit
    more in the docs about this feature.

    You can get a feed of Usenet... as I do... VIA FTN style and pass it around with BinkD

    I gett it via NNTP from my own news server. So I can gate it back out
    via ftn and binkd if anyone wants it.
