A book you might want to check out is "The Soul of a New Machine",
by Tracy Kidder. It's probably out of print by now; it's the story of
the people who built a minicomputer at Data General and the story of
developing the machine. S1 of HACF reminded me of it.
It *is* still in print. In audio too.
One review at goodreads is not too kind about it:
"What the book describes is semi-voluntary slavery, and even
Kidder recognises it as a recipe for an early burn-out."
But the majority have enjoyed. I think I would too. Thanks
for mentioning it.
