I asked DM about this recently, and he said it was an oversight that Synchronet lets polls through even from people in your twit list.

IMO it's mostly harmless stuff. Many times he just seems to want to spark conversation. It's up to you if you want to be triggered by it.

well i've seen about 2 years of the same stuff so i put him in my twitlist. i suppose i should disable the voting.

I think they are talking about fixing a bug that causes polls from twits not to be filtered. At least, I think I have read talk about that elsewhere.

Would we really need to always provide context or a reason when creating a poll? This, and BBSing, is all for fun. Seems like it would be an unnecessary amount of control to have restrictions for doing something like creating a poll..

You are exactly right: this is for fun. I was just suggesting a way to encourage an option to provide relevance or some context to the poll. "Force" was the wrong word.
