I used to do a lot; it's been a few years since I've done much, so I'm rusty, though. Have a lot of friends that I haven't been able to convince t log on to my BBS regularly yet that are hardcore python advocates that use i regularly for work and hobby, though.

Give her time. She's just being patient. ;-)
Since someone brought up Python, I would love to hear opinions as far as wha good book would be. I know I'm not helping the original poster here since I' in the same boat, but figured I'd chime in.
I've looked at a few briefly and some look better than others (I have some experience in other languages), so I was curious what opinions people here might have.

Out of the languages that I know, I would say that python is about the easiest to write 'good' code in. It seems like its syntax really assists th programmer in sticking with all around good coding practice, IMO. I also kn multiple other programmers on the east coast and they all state that they wo rather be working in python than any other language.
That was the one thing I took away from just looking at the syntax. I can't I know much about it, but the syntax itself looks quite 'manageable' if that makes sense.
Yeah. I think it's kind of funny how many people absolutely tweaked out about the mandatory whitespace/indenting for code blocks. I mean what a
comfortable with it. That being said, I don't see why the whitespace considered such a radical change.
