I am doing some speed tests from home while connected to the office VPN, which is typically pretty slow. I have Xfinity/Comcast at home and work
(NJ) & tried to use the same server location if possible:
VPN:
Xfinity Speed Test 151.2/11.8Mbps (New Castle, DE)
Speedtest.net 7.12/6.86 (New Castle, DE)
Google? 16.1/9.45 (NY, NY)
Verizon 7/6 (?)
Fast.com 250/10 (?)
Google Fiber 6.83/6.45 (Atlanta, GA)
Without VPN:
Xfinity Speed Test 183.0/11.8Mbps (Secaucus, NJ)
Speedtest.net 74.88/12.11 (New Castle, DE)
Google? 79.6/11.7 (NY, NY)
Verizon 104/12 (?)
Fast.com 100/9.7 (Philadelphia, PA?)
Google Fiber 106/11.9 (Atlanta, GA)
We have an old firewall that needs to be replaced which would explain a
lot of the speed differences from VPN/Non-VPN connection.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
