How is it in the 21st century, that we don't have a presidential
candidate that knows anything about computers and technology?! I don't know which is worse, this or Hillary Clinton thinking wiping a hard
drive requires a cloth! Absolutely aggravating!

You do know Clinton's remark was sarcasm.. :)
Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush said Tuesday that encryption makes it harder for law enforcement to track down "evildoers" - and called for a "much better, more cooperative relationship" with Apple, Google, and other tech companies that are building uncrackable private communication apps into their new products.

I think this mainly confirms what I already know/suspected. Long ago, I heard
that the government got cell phone service companies to provide the government
a back door into their encrypted connections so that the government could listen in to peoples' cell phone conversations. So I suppose Jeb Bush's comment comes as no surprise, except perhaps that Jeb Bush revealed that they actually are doing this.

Don't waste your time with Clinton? Watch Donald Trump!
i am liking trump. at least he hasn't said something ignorant about computers. I am still not sure who I am voting for. Computer politics are important to me which makes me not want bush or Clinton. that much I am certain of.
donald trump is such a fucking hoot. kicking that guy out of his press conference was great.

He certainly keeps things interesting. What will Donald say/do next?
he said hillary's top aid is not a good choice because she's the wife of anthony weiner.

Why does that bother you so much? You seem to be the only one (or one of the few people) I see complaining about that.

I don't really understand the problem with "necroposting" - particularly around here where we aren't exactly drowning in a flood of new messages. If somebody wants to revive a 10+ year old thread, I can't see the harm in it; it might lead to more discussion, and at worst it's just another message to scroll past.

It's the zombie thread apocolypse! :D
Sorry, couldn't resist. ;)
Shouldn't it be called "necroreplying"?

Yeah, it's not like we're downloading hundreds of messages over dialup, and some users may not have been lurking as long as MRO.
