How old are all of you? I'm curious if the new generation is into ham radi
Heh. I'm 46. My ticket expired about fifteen years ago as there was no way to renew it as I live in a foriegn country. I suppose I could get a British license... which I looked into when I wanted to fly balloons to the edge of space.
Unfortunately, in the UK, it's against regs to operate a HAM radio on an "aircraft" and a weather balloon qualifies as an aircraft.
I was going to just break the law and use a modified PMR radio. I figurered if it was thousands of feet over head, you'd need very little power for it to be heard for a very long distance. RL keeps getting in the way though.
