I think I still need to better manage my diet as my weight
just doesn't want to drop below 100kg (~220lbs ?) while my
optimal weight should be closer to 90-95kg (200-210lbs ?).
I could manage it double digit kilos before I turned 40..
now the metabolism is just playing dirty tricks with me..
To loose weight, you need to have a net negative in total
calorie intake in good quality foods (whole foods, no processed
stuff). I used the BMI as a starting point. From that, I
determined the max daily calories to achieve the weight I
wanted to have. For me, it was 1800 cals per day, and that
worked out to about 100 cals per waking hour. With the per hour
insight, I realized that snacking between the 3 traditional
mealtimes was ok as long as I did not exceed the total for the
day. And, by maintaining a steadier cals in shorter hour
intervals, I was less hungry overall.
Another factor in the eating plan was more activity. Most of my
work could be considered sit-down office work (although I
actually stand at my desk and counter) most of the time. But
through the encouragement of a friend, I doubled my average
daily steps and kms from about 1500 steps or 1.6km, to between
2500-4000 steps or almost 3kms. I just started looking for
opportunities to walk more: parking further away from
department store entrances, navigating almost every aisle in
the grocery store even if i don't need anything from that
aisle, etc.
I see guys about my age who have protruding guts. I was on the
verge of having one myself, but not anymore. I don't have the
definition in abs (have still too much viscercal fat from years
of bad diet) ..but it's look better, gradually.
