I also tried, just for kicks:

Actually, I am running using the '*' because that is what the default entries for the telnet to other BBSes had set up in them. Should I take
the '*' out?

No, '*' or '?' as a prefix for JS scripts is fine.

Thanks! Is there any difference between the two?
can you do a screenshot of your sfg or wherever you are putting this code.
Hmm, should work, it does for me too...
can you do a screenshot of your sfg or wherever you are putting this code.
No I used to could but this new version of scfg (under linux) does not open in a window that allows copy and paste actions.
It says:

All of the other entries are of the same value as the entry for Vert in "Other Synchronet Systems," which does work just fine.
Its just a telnet connection, not a seperate door...
come on. you can do a screenshot.
you have a bad command in there and we need to see it.

No, I have tried it. I cannot, and have not been able to since I upgraded synchronet. The older version of SCFG opened in a lxterminal window, which had a toolbar that included copy and paste. The new version opens in a

If it is typed exactly as it is, it should tell you something.
Now mine looks exactly like yours. It connects for ~6 seconds, shows no error message, and disconnects.
What OS are you using? Mine is under debian, latest version.
How else would my SBBS system telnet to your server?
How else would my SBBS system telnet to your server?by running the telgate.js script straight from your shell script.
you need to figure out how to do a screenshot before anything else.

And my users would access that how? Seriously. :) As it is, I am 99% sure telgate is starting because I am getting the message letting me know what key combo to use to get to the telnet command prompt. telgate is not able to complete (or maintain) the connection, though.

Maybe for other things but, in this case, it'd be pointless. You've already seen my settings so showing you a screenshot would likely not get us any farther.
telgate is firing up on this end, so I don't think it has anything to do with my SCFG settings anyway. It could have something to do with some other setting somewhere, or the version of telgate I have could be buggy.
They would access it byt whatever hotkey you setup in the command loop to run >it. what are you telgate to? have you used a regular telnet program to try to >access the same address? I think i'm missing some info here or something. It >sounded to me like you wanted to set telgate up to run straight from your menu >shell instead of running from your xtrn section. either way, if you are >connecting to the host and not able to maintain the connection, it sounds like >there is a issue on the host side.
