You will have to make sure your mailer polls me (no more than hourly, please) for mail, as I have my configuration set to hold mail here for you to pick up.

It shouldn't cause any more issues than there already has been. :) The issue was that your system hadn't been polling me for over a couple weeks up until I mentioned something. So something was going wrong. Whether it was your mailer or your Synchronet timed event or whatever you have setup for polling, I can't say.

it shouldn't... BTW: you might want to manually configure your polls individually instead of using that X times per day method... unless you can select the minutes past the hour for it to run... IIRC when max tried it, it always polled at the top of the hour but it was very desirable to poll at no sooner than 20 after... i forget what max did specifically to get it operating in the desired manner and can't be sussed at the moment (03:25) to go looking...

Nope, just binkd. I'm not so sure how that binkit.js even works, looking at it, it seems to have reference to several includes which are not present (at least not by default) in my exec. Not so sure if it's WIP thing or what, tbh. :0

It works, if that's what you're wondering. I've setup my Synchronet BBS to poll
my main hub using binkit.js (without actually running it as a server, so I skipped the step of adding it to services.ini), and I haven't had any issues with it.
Just make sure to follow the wiki, and setup the appropriate .ini files along with it.

That said, it's not that bad actually, now that I got it running, thanks to

Man, you know how they say that it takes a village to raise a child..well, it
takes three strong men to wrestle bink..hehe, but no, I'm full of it, it's
really not bad at all for as long you have someone to point you to the right

There is integration, binkit.js is a built-in mailer for Synchronet. You just chose to run a 3rd party application for your mailer. :)

I never had that idea that binkit.js was that integrated, maybe
something was wrong with my setup but I never saw it anywhere in
control configuration (barely even mentioned anywhere in doc) and looking
later on, realized that I'm somehow also missing a lot of files related to it
(freqit and tickit among some ini and such..). In wiki..seemed to me like it
was WIP, especially after reading freqit page so was quite discouraged by the
whole thing.
For someone just starting to set up mailer with bbs this is not the easiest
thing to pick up this way so I opted for binkd instead as at least, knowing
that a lot of people are using it so..good chances of getting help. :)

It most likely is still a WIP, but so far it seems to work as intended without complaints. You just have to go out of your way to grab the appropriate files from CVS in order to use it.
For someone just starting to set up mailer with bbs this is not the easiest thing to pick up this way so I opted for binkd instead as at least, knowing that a lot of people are using it so..good chances of getting help. :)
You can get plenty of help over on Dovenet with anything Synchronet related. But yes, binkd is very functional in it's own regard.

I didn't find it a lot of work... a good text editor makes like easy with maximus, one thing I liked about it was the config. (I may have been the only one)

Heh, not really :) A coworker of mine is running Maximus/2 as well and he loves it! :) Glad I discovered the MsgDivision stanzas after skimming through the documentation :) Makes organizing things a lot easier :)

Exactly. That was something I did more then I should have. ;) I also
liked how you could name the areas and change to them with the name ie:
local.forsale instead of say changing to area 3

Looks good from here. What kind of server did you move it to?

Just to a VM off of the dedicated computer. I've moved pretty much
everything I had running on 6 computers VM's to that Dell 720 I have.
Was weird. IREX did not like the VM at first. I had to go in and mess with
some of the processor settings, then it worked fine! It has a little lag,
but I'm not going to mess with it. Gives it kind of that vintage feel LOL

Ah ok. That's definitely the way to go, imo. Quite a few years back I just went out and spent $300-$400 on a dedicated server machine (HP Proliant ML310e Gen8) that sits under my desk headless, and just ssh into my Linux VMs and Remote Desktop into my Windows VMs. It's nice to keep it all out of the way of the rest of the computers in the house. :)

I was just in conversation with a couple others about Renegade, and was informed by one that trying to use multiple CPUs or cores in your VM setup could cause issues with some of those older softwares, so that may have something to do with it.

thats exactly what the issue was. Now that i have that moved and my Mytic board going. time to het back to finishing my OBV/2 board. after getting
the message bases going, i had to take a little break from it, jist so i
didnt get burnt out on things. i will be working on it again starting this weekend.

I know exactly what you mean. I've been tinkering with PCBoard somewhat recently. And after a couple of mods I had to back off for a few days. I woke up groggy/more tired in the mo--
