• DOSBox and lowercase output.

Anyone know of a way to make DOSBox output lowercase filenames that are created by a FTN tosser (IMP-MAIL.EXE)? I'm trying to get FTN working with Impulse/Linux..

    Thanks,

Natively, no. DOSBOX follows DOS which creates uppercase, case
    insensitive filenames.

    A few options:

    1. Create a separate ext4 file system with the -O casefold option wit
mkfs.ext4 then mount it with mount -o casefold. This is experimental so
    may or may not work.

    2. Create a VFAT file system that you can mount on DOSBOX and Linux
should handle it in a case insensitive manner.

    3. Use an overlay file system. I'm not too familiar with those so you'd
    have to do some research.

    4. Use a Linux tosser or a BBS package like Synchronet that has the
    tosser built in.

Tho all this could be BS cos I have no idea what Impulse/Linux is :)
