I pulled my Raspberry PI 4 out of storage yesterday.
Looking to drop a RetroPI image on it for play.
What are some other use cases people are using them for? Yes a google search would turn this up, but curious what people are doing with them
in the BBS scene.

RetroPie + retroachievements + netplay with friends :)
You know those portable cell phone power banks/batteries people carry to recharge their phones? They can run a Raspberry Pi.
So, one of the main things I've used them for is creating time lapse cameras, which I can drop anywhere in the wilderness I like. A high capacity power bank runs 24-30 hours depending on weather.
I create a hotspot on my cell phone. I power up the camera, and it connects to my hot spot, then (if cell phone service is available) sets its clock over the Internet. I have the Pi running a web server which shows the most recent shot taken by the camera so I can use my phone to pull that up on the Pi to make sure things are aligned properly.
Through the scripts I can tweak things like resolution or how often the
Pi should take a photograph.

DMR Amateur radio hotspot; with an mmdvm (multimode digital voice modem) attached to the gpio I can access the dmr radio network
with my anytone d878uv plus.
Do you have some more info about this? I see that the d878uv is a handheld porte, I've been looking around for a bit on DMR but am not quite sure where to start. :)
Did you ever get more info on this or set up your own DMR hotspot? I've go both a simplex and duplex hotspot set up using MMDVM boards I got off eBay They still have them on there, but you will get a better deal/price from AliExpress these days. I think my simplex mmdvm hat was $16, the duplex on around $24. eBay has simplex ones with a screen (I already had one of thos for $21.
