  • Syncterm ansi music output & pulseaudio

    My rig is a rpi3+ and I was enjoying the new mrc feature StackFault recently folded into the client adding ANSI audio notifications for various events in chat. It sounds like shit in syncterm.

    I see a post on a sourceforge post complaining about pulseaudio providing horrible playback for ansi files in syncterm.

    Has anyone identified a workaround or fix?

    There was a followup but no indication of a fix. The post was submitted four years ago.

    As much as I love the fact that you brought this discussion here, and I seriously hope someone can chime in and help you out with this, but..

    You might be better off going straight to the source(s) on this one.
    Deuce would probably be the guy to talk to. He's usually pretty active
    on IRC (irc.synchro.net), and see what he thinks.

    I think I turned on ANSI music once in my life, and that was all I
    needed to never do it again. :)
